Who We Serve

Picture

Expectant Parents

Whether you are expecting your first or your last child, there are always questions that need to be answered! We have workshops that can help you understand how to keep engaged in your everyday activities before and after birth. We can also provide tools to help you prepare physically and mentally for childbirth and parenthood. If you need additional support, we also offer individualized consultations in your home to address your specific concerns and needs.

New Parents

All new parents - whether they gave birth or not - need to spend quality time getting to know their baby and creating that lifetime bond of love. Our workshops will show you new ways to play with your baby, establish and maintain family routines, and select the products that will best support your baby's health and development. We also offer individualized consultations in your home to address your specific concerns and needs.

What We Do

Educational Workshops

We offer three workshop series.

The Development series provides families with the tools to be competent and confident as caregivers so they can promote development, play skills, and interaction skills.

The Play and Playthings series provides families with the tools to design their spaces that will allow for safety, creativity, and practicality.

The Maternal Health series teaches women how to optimize their own minds and bodies and develop a lifestyle that accommodate physiological and psychological pre- and post-natal changes.

Each workshop has its own handouts and resource materials for participants, which will be electronically available. In addition, we have a referral network for care providers should a client  need more support than what is provided through the workshops.

Additional Services

We strive to provide the most up-to-date, effective advice for women and their families. In occupational therapy and medicine, we call this evidence-based practice, or EBP for short. The primary mission of Maternal Insights is to provide quality maternal health occupational therapy services to our clients, but we do not stop there. We also advocate for EBP in maternal health within our community, and support EBP through education and research.

If you are a maternal health professional that wants to know more about how occupational therapy can benefit women before and after pregnancy, or want to add maternal health occupational therapy to your existing services, we can tailor a program to fit your needs. This can include educational  workshops, consultative services, and more.

We are also interested in connecting with community partners to offer new and innovative services in maternal health. Contact us if your agency is looking for collaborative partnerships.
